Camelot Guidelines

Logo:

  • If the client’s logo is too tall or wide, it will affect the way the header looks.
  • Ideal logo dimensions: 500 pixels wide by 100 pixels tall

Utility Navigation:

  • Is the search bar removable? It can be removed but we cannot replace it with anything else. It only conducts a search within the website, not all of the internet.
  • Is there a min/max to how many the client can have? 0 minimum. If the client wants to substitute any of the topics shown on the demo site with something else, they can but it can’t be anything with a long title. The amount of these will vary based on how many social icons they have. Also, no addresses can go in the utility nav.
  • If you stray from the topics listed on the demo site, you will need to specify what icon you would like to coincide with the topic you add. Available icons:

Main Menu/Phone Number:

  • 6 menu items max.
  • Phone number is optional, but we do not recommend removing it. If they choose to remove it, there will be no phone number on mobile.
  • Only one phone number allowed in this area.

Photo Banner Area:

  • Text on bottom of photos:
    • Can be customized but the character limit is what you see on the demo site: basically a title and a short sentence plus a link button.
    • We can remove the title/text/link and just have a photo.
    • Only one link per slide and it must be last (after caption text)
    • Text must go on the bottom left as it appears on the demo site.
  • Client can choose their own photos if they like or we have some preloaded into the back end of the site. Client should keep in mind the captions always show on lower left hand side, so photo subjects should be centered or off to the right.
  • Pause button is required to ensure ADA accessibility.

Welcome text area:

  • Welcome text will be on the left, but they have several options for the right side (they can have all of these or a minimum of 1):
    • Calendar/Events. If they choose this option, the amount of events that are displayed will depend on how many they have loaded into their calendar (within the site or a third party internet calendar like Google or iCal, etc.) - but 5 will be the max as you see on the demo site.
    • Feature. If they choose this option they get a title, a photo, a small area for text, and a link.
    • Call Out Buttons. 2 min, 3 max. These will just be a link and can be any topic.
    • Office Hours

*Keep in mind, the amount of welcome text the client would like needs to be considered when choosing items for the right side. If you have 4 items on the right and a small amount of welcome text, it will look funny and lead to a lot of white space.

Feature Boxes/Blog Feed/Callout Section:

  • They must choose one of the following (no more, no less):
    • Feature Boxes:
      • If they choose this option they can have 2 minimum, 3 maximum. Any topics they want.
      • There have to be photos in these boxes.
    • Blog Feed:
      • If they choose this option, text and images are pulled from the actual blog entries on the blog page within their site.
      • Client has to have at least 2 entries on their blog in order for this option to work.
      • Client has to have photos in the blog entries.
    • Callouts:
      • If they choose this option they can have 2 minimum, 3 maximum. Any topics they want.
      • There have to be photos in these boxes.

Footer:

  • Addresses are required and have to go on the left side.
  • If the client has more than 6 locations, the footer navigation will be removed and the addresses will stack and span the length of the footer.
  • The office name pulls from the provisioning information.

Colors:

  • While it’s not something we advertise, from time to time management will allow a Starter client to switch from one color scheme or font package to another as a one-time courtesy. Your first line of defense should always be that we built the site based on the color scheme/fonts the client chose and signed off on. If a client is adamant about switching to a different color scheme or font package:

*Any requests outside of these guidelines will need to be approved by management. However, we really should not stray from these guidelines since these are Starter packages. Your first line of defense should always be to educate the client on what the Starter package includes and the guidelines surrounding them.
